April showers bring April Empties

Clockwise from Burt’s Bees:
Burt’s Bee’s Tinted Lip Balm in Rose: An easy, moisturizing swipe of sheer red that makes me look more alive while blurring over my vaguely cracked lips. This was my 2nd or 3rd repurchase, so I may take a break on another repurchase to try something new, but I know this one is a good’un. Ingredients include coconut oil, olive oil, beeswax, and shea butter. ($7 on Burt’s Bees)

Hurraw! Green Tea Lip Balm: Smells like matcha green tea because…it has hemp oil infused with matcha green tea in it! Loved that (I mean, omega fatty acids for my lips is pretty ballin’) and also the moisturizing powers. Kept this at my desk for moisturizing when I didn’t want/need color. I have two more of these left in Vanilla Bean and Earl Grey. ($3.79 on Hurraw!)
Acure Argan Oil: I have used this as a makeup remover, face moisturizer, and a body moisturizer. This was good as a face moisturizer, but now that I’m getting fancy with facial oil blends, I have delegated this more towards makeup remover and body moisturizer. It is a little pricier than jojoba oil or sweet almond oil, but let’s just say my mother took advantage of an Acure sale at our local health store a bit back. Easily takes off all makeup and leaves my body even softer than jojoba or sweet almond ever did. Also, 100% certified organic. ($12.99 on Vitacost, $14.50 on Amazon, $14.99 on Acure)
Zuzu Luxe Liquid Eyeliner in Black Pearl: Stays put with minimal smudging even with my monolid eroding away at it all day. Makes a great cat-eye, and Black Pearl is black + sparkles. I’ve had this in Raven (just black) before, so I am also taking a break on repurchasing this to try something new, but again, this is also a good one. ($14.85 on Gabriel Cosmetics)
Konjac Sponge Co. Konjac Sponge with French Green Clay: This little guy has unfortunately developed a tear at the 3 month mark (average lifetime of a Konjac sponge), so I will be searching for a plant that will serve as its final resting place. A nice, gentle sponge that I enjoyed using in the morning or post-makeup removal at night. Always left my face soft. ($9 on Spirit Beauty Lounge)

Winter Empties ft. Soapwalla, Yuli, Mad Hippie

read: I have run out of a few of my favorite things and I am sad.

Soapwalla Kitchen Deodorant Cream ($12): I’ve been rotating this with Weleda’s Deodorant spray since the summer, and this is my go-to for reliably no-smell and less wet-armpit-look days. I am a really sweaty person, so believe me, it works.
Yulï Skincare Panacea Elixir ($36): I adore this. I love the smell, it’s refreshing when you hit that midday slump or you’re traveling 9 hours straight on a plane, it feels calming on my blemish-prone skin post-cleansing–nothing bad I can say about this except that I went through this in a month. *cry.
Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum ($33.99): I am eagerly waiting my repurchase of this because this stuff is awesome. It’s an antioxidant punch bowl that, in conjunction with my argan-tamanu moisturizing, has lightened up my acne scars from my crazy summer breakout to the point that, while I’m not ready to go concealer-less everyday, I was okay with going skiing barefaced last week (on the basis that I needed to be able to reapply sunscreen. And yet I still got burned. *owned by life).

Skin and Bones Moisturizer

Also sad I’ve run out of this jojoba oil moisturizer sample from Skin & Bones as well. I experimented a bit with using it for my face, but since I am trying to stick to a routine to clear up a bout of facial acne, I ended up using it more as a body moisturizer. It has this exotic woodsy smell that is really fresh right after the shower, absorbs well and easily, and keeps my body nicely moisturized. ($30 – 1.7 oz, $50 – 3.4 oz, $90 – 6.7 oz, $0 if you catch it on a free sample Friday!)

YULI Skincare Panacea Elixir

I am terribly, terribly sad I am already out of this Panacea Elixir by YULI Skincare. I went through the trial version in a week, and I loved using it to set makeup and as a refreshing mist during the day. It has all sorts of goodness in it for balancing, hydrating, and decongesting the skin which is awesome, and smells kind of like dates (the fruit. Not sure what dates with people smell like). Would definitely repurchase if I wasn’t a poor musician. ($12.00 – trial, $36.00 – full)
